On behalf of Goodwill Industries, Goodwill Southern California has facilitated a National Activation Partnership with Got Your 6, a national campaign led by the entertainment industry and social service nonprofits that will help create a new conversation in America, one where veterans and military families are perceived as both leaders and civic assets. In the military, “Got Your Six” means “I’ve got your back.” Got Your 6 seeks to connect Americans with veterans and military families to build relationships that will aid transition, foster leadership and reinvigorate our communities.
In order to set up veterans and military families for success in civilian life, Got Your 6 will focus on the six pillars of reintegration: jobs, education, health, housing, family, and leadership. Each pillar is led by a nonprofit activation partner that is an expert on a specific pillar’s subject matter. Goodwill has been serving veterans since World War I, and now, will serve as the National Activation Partner—working in tandem with partners from all six pillars to assist veterans and their families in their time of transition. The collective goal of these partners is to prepare and place 500,000 veterans in sustainable employment over the course of the campaign. We believe in the value and potential of America’s veterans. As a leader in workforce development and training, Goodwill will leverage our programming and extraordinary reach in more than 2,700 neighborhoods to achieve this goal.
