Patrick McClenahan

President and CEO

Patrick McClenahan accepted the role of President and CEO of Goodwill Southern California after overseeing the planning, development and implementation of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games. As President and CEO, Patrick led a team of 450 employees and raised more than $100 million to put on the largest sports and humanitarian event in the world as 6,500 athletes from 164 countries inspired all with their courage, determination and joy.

Prior to the World Games, Patrick was a longtime sports and media executive in Los Angeles, including leading the largest local broadcast operation in the country, CBS 2 and KCAL 9. His career has also included leading the programming and production efforts of Prime Ticket and the Fox Sports Regional Networks and has been honored with six Emmy’s for his work in sports television.

Patrick is also active in providing leadership in the community having served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Southern California for 11 years. Patrick also serves in leadership roles on the boards of the Los Angeles Sports Council and the LA 84 Foundation.

A native of Los Angeles, Patrick is a University of Southern California alumnus. He and his wife, Karren, are the proud parents of Eric and Kelly. Kelly has Cerebral Palsy and is a key inspiration in Patrick’s desire to serve individuals with special needs.

Patrick is honored to have the opportunity to lead Goodwill Southern California’s efforts to Transform Lives Through the Power of Work.

Kathleen Johnson, ESQ Attorney at Law

Board Chair

Kathleen Johnson is an attorney in Santa Barbara. Kathy has practiced for 30 years in the areas of corporate, real estate and financial transactions. She represents a number of financial institutions, including money center banks. She has particular expertise in municipal finance transactions, real estate financings, loan workouts and restructurings.


Kathleen graduated from UC Riverside in 1971 and received her J.D. from UCLA in 1982. In addition to her Goodwill involvement, she is an advisory board member of Women’s Economic Ventures, an advisory board member of Leadership Santa Barbara County and a partner with Santa Barbara chapter of Social Venture Partners.  She is one of the founders of the Ladies of the Fires, a support network for women who lost their homes in the Tea Fire and Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara.
