BUSINESS SERVICE AND
APPRENTICESHIPS
Business Services is another way Goodwill SoCal operates as a social
enterprise, leveraging the power of business to create job opportunities
for individuals facing barriers to employment. Business Services includes
Government & Commercial Services (GCS) and the Print Shop. Those who
choose Goodwill SoCal Business Services help to create jobs, foster
community growth and sustainability.
Government & Commercial Services include mail room
management, warehousing, shelf stocking, custodial services, and grounds
maintenance. GSC was awarded contracts with federal, state, municipal, and
commercial entities including: US Army Reserve Centers, US Air Force (Los
Angeles Air Force Base), US Coast Guard, US Space Force (Vandenberg), the
Defense Commissary Agency, the IRS and the FAA.
The Print Shop delivers fast, efficient and high-quality printing
services, from business cards to banners, all done with the highest level of
professionalism. Our Printing Services include both small and large format
printing on state-of-the-art equipment, a wide range of finishing services,
large format scanning and garment printing. The Print Shop also employs
sustainable business practices, including recycling programs and the use
of energy-efficient technologies.
Apprenticeships
On October 11, the Los Angeles Workforce Development Board announced
the launch of the City’s Apprenticeship Ecosystem work, beginning with
a kick off meeting in the Mayor’s Office Press Room. This effort will
strengthen apprenticeship pathways citywide and expand access to high
quality earn-and-learn opportunities.
Goodwill SoCal was selected by the Workforce Development Board to lead
development of a regional Registered Apprenticeship Blueprint, build a
centralized online platform connecting job seekers to opportunities and
resources, and develop at least one new apprenticeship in a high-growth sector.
