Nicole Vermeer Chief Development Officer GOODWILL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 2025 | 3 In 2025, Goodwill Southern California advanced a bold vision for workforce transformation—connecting people to opportunity, systems to strategy, and communities to inclusive economic growth. Through 11 employment centers—including WorkSource Centers, YouthSource Centers, and AJCCs; we delivered human-centered services that meet individuals where they are and guide them toward sustainable careers. This year, we significantly increased the number of individual workforce services provided while strengthening career coaching, skills training, work-based learning, digital access, and wraparound supports, ensuring participants can overcome barriers and succeed in an evolving economy. At the core of our model is our Employment Social Enterprise. Across more than 100 retail locations, we provided paid, transitional work experiences that build skills and confidence, while generating mission-sustaining revenue. In 2025, we expanded this model into an integrated earn-and-learn ecosystem, growing apprenticeships and sector-based pathways in high-growth industries. We also responded to urgent community needs following the Los Angeles fires— delivering emergency support, connecting individuals to employment, and stabilizing communities. As a trusted regional leader, we continue shaping a more coordinated, equitable workforce system. This is recovery, resilience, and transformation—powered by one mission and realized through many pathways. Powering Recovery and Driving Opportunity Jorge Marquez Chief Impact Officer Investing in Impact, Inspiring Change Building a prosperous community is an active investment in human potential, not a byproduct of economic chance. It is about equipping our community with the tools needed to thrive. This ethos drives Goodwill Southern California’s dual-purpose social enterprise. In a year marked by unprecedented community and environmental challenges, our century of impact serves as a powerful testament to what is possible when donors, foundations, corporate partners, public agencies, and neighbors intentionally align their resources with local action. By pioneering workforce innovation, creating sustainable career paths, delivering vital social services, and championing landfill diversion, Goodwill Southern California turns philanthropic support into scalable community solutions. Thanks to our generous community partners and visionary supporters, we secured $25 million in public and private investment to provide 60,941 critical services this year. These funds directly supported community programs that address immediate family needs while building long-term, generational progress. Together, we meet individuals exactly where they are, transforming immediate support into a sustainable, thriving, and equitable future for all. It is an honor to build that brighter tomorrow in partnership with you and those we serve.
